Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actress best known for playing House in Fox's medical drama House. She grew up in Wayne, in a conservative Jewish tradition. As a teenager, 18, she emigrated into New York City to study at Tisch School for the Arts. The school quickly became a fixture in the New York club scene. Her performances were so good that even the local press took note. She utilised both her experience in the music industry and public recognition to create and star in a brand new musical called Positive Me. Then she was employed by MTV to be the host of Awake On The Wild Side. When Awake on the Wild Side had stopped running, she started to act in films and on television, initially in brief parts. In time, her experience as an actor was growing.
